Peanut Butter Frosting Recipe: Simple and Delicious
Posted in Peanut Butter Frosting on October 18th, 2009 by sarita – Comments OffThere’s nothing like the combination of slightly salty peanut butter and sweet dark chocolate. This reproduced recipe recommends trying this simple peanut butter frosting on brownies, and we agree! Perhaps it would be nice on chocolate cake, banana-chocolate chip cupcakes, or even a berry-flavored cake reminiscent of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. (is that weird?)
Here’s the recipe. More information after the jump:
Ma Moore’s Peanut Butter Frosting (NY) Recipe
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
1/8 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup skim milk (other types of milk can substitute)
Instructions In a large bowl, mix the butter by hand with the confectioners’ sugar and cocoa powder. Stir in the vanilla. Add the peanut butter, and mix until the texture resembles small beads. Add the milk slowly, beating with a mixer until very creamy. Add up to 3 additional tablespoons of milk if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
