Edible Moments shared this delicious mocha frosting recipe, designed to go on her chocolate mayonnaise cupcakes that didn’t quite cut it.  So, she shares the mocha frosting recipe that was still quite a hit.

Mocha Frosting:

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 cups icing sugar
2 tbsp instant coffee powder
2 tbsp hot milk
2 tbsp whipped cream

1) Dissolve instant coffee into hot milk.
2) beat butter Icing Sugar and Coffee mixture
3) add Cocoa powder
4) Add the whipped cream, and beat until smooth and creamy.

Fabulous Coffee Frosting Recipe With Starbucks!!

We love coffee frosting, and came across this fabulous recipe from Jamie of all Trades.  It combines Starbucks Via instant coffee, coffee liqueur, egg whites, butter and sugar, and check out her beautiful presentation.

Coffee frosting is more versatile than you think.   It’s fabulous with flavors like cinnamon, chocolate, mocha, vanilla, caramel and walnuts.  For a cake or cupcake garnish, chocolate-covered coffee beans, chocolate shavings, or candied walnuts are always a hit.

Coffee Cake Frosting Recipe: Icing Inside and Out

This fabulous cake and frosting is for coffee lovers only.  It features instant coffee in both the cake batter, as well as flecks in the frosting itself, giving it a lovely texture.  Pioneer Woman’s photographs of the baking process are fabulous and she also gives wise baking and frosting tips throughout.

Pioneer Woman’s Coffee Cake Literally (Icing)

ICING
1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) regular (salted) butter
1 pound powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons instant coffee
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 to 4 tablespoons heavy cream (add as needed)

Combine all icing ingredients, then ice cake. Chill for an hour before serving.
