Basic Tools For Beautiful Frosting Every Time
There are so many tools for cake decorating but few you’ll return to again and again. One we like is a dual piping bag. This souped-up piping bag serves two streams of frosting at once, allowing for creative blends of colors, tastes and textures. We like to fill one side of the bag up with dark chocolate frosting and the other with hazelnut, but the combinations are endless!
Another tool we like is the food decorating pen. When you want to deliver thin, delicate borders and decorations to cookies, cupcakes and more, the food decorating pen is indispensable.
Finally, we like to keep an icer tube on hand. This tool is particularly good when frosting a large number of cupcakes. It creates the “mound of frosting” look in a smooth or textured finish, perfect as is or as a base for additional decorations.
